Bezaleel Makes the Ark of the Covenantby emmanuel_higgins

Exodus 37:8

One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub on the other end on that side: out of the mercy seat made he the cherubims on the two ends thereof.

This verse belongs to the record of the tabernacle work that God directed Moses to have constructed. It describes the cherubim placed at the two ends of the mercy seat as part of the sanctuary's carefully wrought sacred furnishings. Those holy objects and their adornments were fashioned by skilled workmen in exact obedience to God's instruction. The record simply reports the making of the cherubim and gives no explanation of what the cherubim themselves mean.
