The spreading of the tent over the tabernacle and the placing of its covering above it was one precise step in the detailed setting up of the tabernacle, done exactly as the Lord had commanded Moses. That careful order in arrangement was intended to impress Israel with the majesty and holiness of God and with the purity required of all who served Him. The order and harmony of the worship centered there were further intended to display to the surrounding nations something of God's character and of what He desired His people to be.
