Exodus 40:21
And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses. And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the testimony; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Moses carried the ark of the testimony inside the tabernacle and raised the covering veil to screen it from view, doing exactly what the Lord had commanded him. That careful placing was part of a divinely ordered arrangement of the sanctuary and its furnishings. The precision and reverence of that order were intended to impress upon Israel the majesty and holiness of God. They were also intended to teach Israel the purity of heart and life He requires from all who enter His service.
The harmony and order of the tabernacle were further intended as a public testimony to the nations around Israel. Through them outsiders were to learn what kind of God Israel worshiped and what kind of people He designed His followers to be. For that reason, everything connected with work for God should be so arranged as to worthily represent Him.
