Ezekiel 40:39
And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering. And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering.
In the vision a man with the appearance of brass stands in the gate and measures with a reed, and he measures the porch of the gate with its two tables on this side and two tables on that side for slaying the burnt offering and the sin offering and the trespass offering. He measures just as carefully the little chambers and the doorways and the arches and the pillars and the great gate looking toward the east, showing that the divine measurement takes in every least item of the house and leaves nothing unmeasured.
This measuring means that true measure is everything, namely the very law of God brought into the least of human acts and dealings. By learning that measure and living it, people are elevated and ennobled and sanctified in heart and affection. They become faithful in the least, loving God supremely and their neighbor as themselves. By grace through Jesus Christ they are built up into a true righteous stature and structure after the divine model in preparation for glory, and this spiritual measure is God's measure of the person.
