Genesis 29:2
And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well’s mouth. And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well’s mouth.
Jacob came to a well out in the field with three flocks of sheep lying beside it. The flocks were resting there together because that well was the place from which they were watered. A large stone lay over the opening of the well and covered its mouth.
Jacob himself rolled that stone away and watered the flocks, putting himself to helpful service for others. It was at this well, in the act of this service, that he met Rachel.
