Hosea 7:13
Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me. Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
To turn away from God is to flee from Him, and that flight is transgression against Him. Upon such flight rests woe, and to it belongs destruction. The warning is directed to those already redeemed by God, whose redemption makes their course the more solemn. Yet in return for redemption they speak lies against Him, setting falsehood where gratitude and loyalty were due.
