Isaiah 1:26

And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

Before the promised restoration God turns His hand upon His people to purge away impurity thoroughly, taking away all dross and tin. That purging is a separation that keeps the sacred work of the Lord distinct from ordinary and common affairs of life, which must not be mingled with it. He will then restore just and faithful judges as at the first and counsellors as at the beginning.

In that restoration He replaces food that is acceptable yet gives the churches no real strength with real, solid, spiritual food. Afterward His people, Jerusalem, shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city. Zion shall be redeemed with judgment and her converts with righteousness.

The verse instructs those who sit in the editorial chair and all leaders who feed the flock. Those leaders must drink deep from the fountain of living waters by the Holy Spirit in order to discern necessities and give meat in due season.
