Isaiah 46:13
I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory. I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not tarry: and I will place salvation in Zion for Israel my glory.
God Himself brings His own righteousness near so that it is not far off, and His salvation will not delay or tarry. He will place salvation in Zion for Israel, who is His glory, so that this salvation brings glory to Him. In its prophetic setting this promise belongs to the hope of the Messiah, whose life and work reveal God's glory.
Because that righteousness is brought near, the sinner who stands in the righteousness of Jesus Christ is justified by faith, leaving no excuse for turning away from faith or for despondency. The promised righteousness is free to all who hunger and thirst for it, and those who feel their spiritual need will be filled. To hunger and thirst means living in continual subjection to God's requirements, in entire conformity to His will, and in obedience to His law from the heart. The very intensity of that craving for spiritual blessing is itself a pledge that the supply will be given.
