Jeremiah 13:24

Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.

God's judgment in the verse is a scattering of the people like dry stubble driven off by the wind of the desert. That scattering comes because they forgot God and put their trust in falsehood. It is the judgment that follows refusing to hear and being fixed in a habit of evil.

The same scattering falls on those who keep rejecting conviction and turn away from truth to human teachings. Their hearts become hardened in a chosen course of error. That persistent resistance leads to being driven away like dry stubble before the wilderness wind.
