Jeremiah 31:23
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The LORD bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.
Jeremiah 31:23 belongs to the prophecy of Israel's restoration, describing what will occur when God brings back the captivity. At that time the cities and towns of Judah will again speak blessing toward Jerusalem as a righteous dwelling and a sacred height. Judah's cities will thus once more be linked with justice and holiness upon the captives' return.
That return brings settled life throughout Judah, with farmers and those keeping flocks dwelling together in the land and its towns. In that renewal God fills and content the weary soul. He replenishes and revives every life weighed down with sorrow.
