Jeremiah 49:24
Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail.
Damascus is described as grown feeble and seized by fear and anguish, unable to hold its ground. Its distress takes hold of it like the pangs of a woman in travail. Being unable to stand firm, she turns herself to flee. This comes upon her as she faces the conqueror Nebuchadnezzar.
