Jeremiah 7:28

But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the LORD their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.

This is a nation that disobeys the voice of the Lord its God and refuses to receive correction and reproof. Its disobedience was persistent, a settled refusal to heed what God spoke and to accept the reproof that would have set it right. That refusal took concrete form in disregarding God's counsel, misusing the privileges entrusted to it, and joining itself to idolaters instead of correcting its ways.

Among such a people truth has perished, cut off so completely that it is no longer found in their mouth and has disappeared from their speech. This rejecting of God's word and reproof brought ruin and loss of honor among the nations. God withdrew His special presence and protection, leaving the nation exposed to the consequences of its own course.
