Job 30:24

Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction.

The Hebrew term behind the word for grave is ai, rendered as grave only in this place, with heap given in the margin as an alternative rendering.

Job 30 shows that the friends' statements about suffering were generally true yet were wrongly applied to Job, so adversity by itself does not prove that a person is under God's displeasure. Job's own affliction did not mean that God had rejected him. God saw the outcome, and used Job's trial to bring lasting comfort and hope to others and blessing to Job.
