Job 36:23

Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

No one can prescribe God's course for Him or justly charge Him with having done wrong. His wisdom exceeds human understanding, so His actions lie beyond human correction. His dealings remain right even when people cannot understand them.

That limit bears especially on His moral dealings and His purposes concerning eternal life, before which human smallness in the face of His works shows how little is grasped. It answers questioning of His providence, since people are often unable to explain even the ordinary things directly before them. It exposes the error of judging His treatment of Job from limited observation, for He knew the outcome and was bringing good from Job's suffering.
