Blue Glacier Ice Caveby emmanuel_higgins

Job 38:30

The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

The hardening of water like stone and the locking of the surface of the deep in ice belongs among the divine mysteries in nature that remain beyond grasp even for minds of the greatest power. The divine interrogation concerning it was not posed to elicit answers but to direct attention to the profound mysteries of God and to impress the limitation of human wisdom. It demonstrates that within the ordinary surroundings of everyday life there are many realities that finite beings cannot comprehend.

In both revealed truth and the natural world God has appointed such incomprehensible things to require and command faith. He is to be acknowledged as truly in what He withholds from view as in what He permits to be partially understood, for beyond all that is grasped stretches an infinity that invites endless searching, inquiry, and learning. To withhold belief merely because His infinite power cannot be fully comprehended is to discard this very evidence.
