Job 8:16

He is green before the sun, and his branch shooteth forth in his garden.

He is green before the sun belongs to Bildad's first speech, which is an exhortation to humility. It stands in that portion of Job which treats the age-old problems that have perplexed humanity through all ages, of an overruling providence and of sin and suffering, where God is disciplining Job and bringing him through the fire of affliction. In that setting the three friends charge Job with sin and declare that his sufferings are because of sin, showing how prone people are to misjudge their fellows in the same way. Job's answer to Bildad's argument is that afflictions are no proof of sin. As one of the friends' declarations, what is said here must not be accepted as reliable simply because it is recorded in Scripture, but its claims should be tested against other inspired teachings.
