Joshua 10:4
Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel. Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.
The Gibeonites made peace with Joshua and the children of Israel to preserve their lives because they knew they could not resist Israel. That peace treaty provoked the king of Jerusalem to move against Gibeon. He called upon other kings to come up to him and help him smite Gibeon precisely because it had made peace with Joshua and with Israel.
