Joshua 17:2
There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.
Joshua 17:2 stands in that portion of Joshua which recounts the conquering of the Canaanites and the dividing of the land, coming after the account of Achan's sin and its consequences. It records the lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families, naming the male children of Manasseh son of Joseph through Abiezer and Helek and Asriel and Shechem and Hepher and Shemida. That lot belongs to the orderly distribution of the land among its heirs. The distribution was made on the basis of written records that described the property accurately.
