Judges 15:19
But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof En-hakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day. But God clave an hollow place that was in the jaw, and there came water thereout; and when he had drunk, his spirit came again, and he revived: wherefore he called the name thereof En-hakkore, which is in Lehi unto this day.
The verse belongs to the life and history of Samson. He was the promised son given to Manoah to serve as judge and deliverer of Israel. His extraordinary physical strength did not come from his muscular build and well-knit sinews but from his standing as a Nazarite, symbolized by his uncut and unshorn hair. His history shows a contrast between great physical strength and weakness in self-control. When facing temptation he had access to God's strength, yet he chose to yield to passion, and that chosen course ended in shame, disaster, and death.
