Psalms 119:47

And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

To delight in the commandments is to love them, and this delighting love is the language and experience of every truly obedient and sanctified child of God. The heart that so delights walks in the law, keeps the testimonies, seeks God with the whole heart, does no wrong, has respect to all the commandments, and reflects upon the statutes. God's law is holy and good, not a yoke of bondage or an oppressive burden or a harmful and severe restriction, for the Lord withholds nothing that is for good. Those who remain obedient honor that holy law even when the world defies it.

Obedience to the commandments brings liberty and gives no cause for shame, so that those who seek the precepts walk at liberty and speak His testimonies before kings and are not ashamed. Shame belongs not to obedience but to disobedience to His precepts. Bitterness against the law is the opposite of this delight and follows the spirit and leadership of Satan. He first brought in sin by misrepresenting the law and still stirs up hostility against it, yet being with the majority on that side does not change truth, and sin remains the breaking of the law.

The delighting love is the song of the last-day commandment-keeping people described in Revelation 14, whose faithfulness and loyalty to the laws of God's kingdom grow with the crisis. The contempt placed upon the law only makes their love more firm, decided, and increased. With glad and happy voices they echo the psalmist while proclaiming the third angel's message with heart and voice, keeping the law continually forever and ever and lifting up the hands to the commandments they have loved in meditation on His statutes.
