Psalms 12:5
For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him. God hears the oppression of the poor and the sighing, cries, and distress of the needy, and He responds to them. He promises that now He will arise to act on their behalf. He will set the needy in safety and protect them from those who threaten, mistreat, attack, and abuse them.
In this deliverance He vindicates righteousness and truth, revealing His character. Those who fear Him and accept Christ are to reflect His concern by respecting the poor and by defending and upholding their cause.
