Psalms 33:16

There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

No king is kept safe by the size of his army, and no mighty man is rescued by the greatness of his own strength. Human power by itself does not secure safety, and neither multitude of host nor much strength can by themselves save or deliver. Deliverance is not obtained through military power.

Safety and deliverance come from Jehovah as strength and deliverer. This lesson was impressed upon Israel through the songs of David. They were taught to trust in His name rather than to rely on armies, weapons, horses, or chariots.
