Psalms 59:3
For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD. For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
The psalm to which this verse belongs is David's own composition. It stands among his songs of thankfulness for rescue from those who sought his life. Its burden is personal gratitude for deliverance from enemies arrayed against him.
