For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.
The verse stands within a declaration of God's power and care for His people. God Himself is the glory of their strength, being both its splendor and its source. By His favor their horn shall be exalted, meaning their strength and honor and power are lifted up by Him.
In the promises to David this exalted horn is part of God's covenant assurance. Those promises to David look forward beyond his own day to their complete fulfillment in Christ.
