Song of Solomon 5:15
His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars. His legs are as pillars of marble, set upon sockets of fine gold: his countenance is as Lebanon, excellent as the cedars.
The beloved described here is the Mighty One to be clung to, the chiefest among ten thousand and the One altogether lovely. His legs like pillars of marble set on sockets of fine gold speak of strength and stability that can bear full trust. His countenance like Lebanon, excellent as the cedars, marks Him as supreme and majestic above multitudes. Self is to be put out of sight so that Jesus alone appears in the life. His promises are to be held fast and borne upon with the whole weight of the soul.
Those promises are to be put to the test, for they will never fail. Life and work are to be placed in God without delay. The hours of probation are short at best, and demand wholehearted dependence now. Children are none too young to give their hearts to God. They may begin to serve Him early, clinging to the same lovely Saviour and proving His unfailing word.
