Song of Solomon 6:2

My beloved is gone down into his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens, and to gather lilies.

The verse belongs within a poetic portrayal of Christ and His church. That portrayal sets forth the relationship between bridegroom and bride as the bond between Christ and His people. It makes Christ's wonderful love its central theme. It likewise presents the answering love of the church, which is often lacking in faithfulness and constancy.
