Song of Solomon 8:11

Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver.

The verse stands in Canticles, also called the Song of Solomon. It is couched in the warm, figurative language of the East, vivid and glowing, with imagery that belongs to the time when it was written. It is a poem and a parable setting forth Christ and His church. It displays Christ's wonderful love and the answering love of the church, which often lacks faithfulness and constancy.

It pictures the church as no longer merely tending another's vineyard. She comes to receive the fruit of her own vineyard. That fruit is valued at a thousand pieces of silver.
