Dietary Reform and Spiritual Health in the Last Days

Can your physical diet actually cloud your spiritual discernment?

Meat eaters in the last days

AdventAI

In the final days of earth's history, those preparing for translation will eventually dispense with all flesh foods as part of a complete restoration to a pure and healthful diet. While meat eating was permitted under specific circumstances after the fall, it is not the most wholesome diet and is particularly harmful in this age due to the widespread prevalence of disease in the animal kingdom.

🍎 The Spiritual Impact of Diet

The choices we make regarding our diet have a direct influence on our spiritual discernment and character development.

  • Strengthening Animal Passions: Consuming the flesh of dead animals stimulates lower animal propensities and weakens the higher, moral, and intellectual powers.

  • Clouding Perception: A meat diet beclouds the intellect, making it difficult for the soul to realize the force of truth and the necessity of practicing it.

  • Enabling a Holy Life: A religious life is more successfully maintained when meat is discarded, as the body is composed of what it eats and should not be "animalized" by dead flesh.

🤒 Physical Health and Disease

As the end draws near, the safety of consuming animal products decreases significantly.

  • Increased Liability to Disease: The risk of contracting illnesses is increased tenfold by meat eating.

  • Poisoning the Blood: Meat contains humors and poisons that contaminate the blood and plant seeds of disease in the tissues.

  • Specific Afflictions: Cancers, tumors, scrofula, and inflammatory diseases are largely attributed to the practice of subsisting on the flesh of dead animals.

  • Resistance to Epidemics: Those who abstain from meat often recover from infectious diseases and epidemics more readily than those who indulge in a flesh diet.

🍞 The True "Meat" for the Soul

While we move away from temporal meat, we are called to feast upon the spiritual nourishment provided by Christ.

  • Eating Christ’s Flesh: This is not a literal act but signifies receiving, assimilating, and practicing the Word of God.

  • The Bread of Life: Jesus is the living bread, and by feeding on His words, which are spirit and life, we obtain immortality and spiritual vigor John 6:48-63.

  • A Personal Experience: Every individual must come to Christ with their own soul hunger; no one can eat this spiritual flesh for another.

🕊️ Guidance for Reform

Those in leadership and the medical work are called to give a straight testimony regarding health reform.

  • Education over Force: While meat eating is deleterious, it should not be made a test of fellowship or removed all at once from those unaccustomed to the change.

  • Tenderness and Skill: Those who have used meat all their lives must be treated tenderly and educated to see the importance of substituting meat with wholesome grains, fruits, nuts, and vegetables.

  • The Promise of Protection: To those who diligently hearken to God's voice and keep His statutes, He promises to put none of the diseases of the world upon them Exodus 15:26.

In these last days, as we watch and wait for the Son of Man, we are encouraged to be faithful servants who give "meat in due season," which refers to the present truths of the third angel's message Matthew 24:42-45. Establishing hygienic restaurants and sanitariums is a key method for teaching the world the advantages of a non-flesh diet. Ultimately, the goal is to return to the original, wholesome diet given by God in the beginning.
